There are several opportunities for you to receive compensation above your 182-day base contract:
-
For employees new to the district, 3 days of new staff orientation is paid at per diem.
-
All employees have 5 days of supplemental pay--three before school starts and two during the year. Leaves do not apply on these days. If an employee is unable to work a supplemental day, the supervisor will provide make up opportunities. A one-week prior notification by the employee is required, except for illness or emergency. Make up opportunities will be scheduled and designed by the supervisor with input by the staff member.
-
I-728 Separate Contract--All employees have 21 hours (pro-rated based on FTE) of compensated I-728 activities. Each building develops a list of approved individual, building, and/or district activities. A separate form must be completed and turned into your office manager by June 30th.
-
Discretionary Supplies Allocation--All employees who are employed by the district on October 1st are eligible to be reimbursed for $350 (pro-rated based on FTE) of materials and supplies for their classroom. Kindergarten teachers will be allocated a maximum 1.0 FTE amount for each kindergarten class session (i.e., a full-time teacher with two half-day kindergarten classes will be allocated $700; a full-time kindergarten teacher with one full day kindergarten class will be allocated $350). A separate form must be completed and turned in to your office manager by May 15th. Receipts are not required. This is a one-time payment once the total amount has been spent.
Many specialist groups (librarians, nurses, counselors, psychologists, activity directors, etc.) have extra paid work days bargained in the contract. Check Article VI of the contract for your group's specific provisions. |
